Timber the Sa-whet OwlAt present we have a Northern Sa-whet Owl named Timber.  Timber was found by a logging crew who discovered Timber when he was a baby in his nest. The tree had been felled without prior knowledge of the nest and Timber was found with a broken wing. The logging crew stopped work, packed the tiny owl in a lunchbox lined with a sweatshirt and drove Timber in the logging truck to Woodleaf Outdoor School. Here it was determined that Timber's injuries were too severe for complete rehabilitation. As such, Timber is a permanent residence of the Raptor Center
