Tecelote, a Long Eared OwlTecelote; a Long-eared Owl, was found by a Mexican family while he was being dragged to the bushes by a domestic cat. The family chased away the cat and Contacted Woodleaf Outdoor School. It was determined that Tecelote had been hit by a car prior to his encounter with the cat and his injuries were too severe for him to be returned to the wild. Tecelote, the Spanish work for owl, was named to honor the Mexican family who discovered him and helped him to find refuge at the Radin Raptor Center.
