Shady Creek Outdoor School provides
students with an optimal opportunity for social growth. As the program
is residential, students learn to live and work together for an entire
week. While they are accustomed to working and sharing in a day-to-day
school environment, the opportunity to work, share meals, and cohabitate
with a group of peers is rare. While at Shady Creek students make new
friends, learn to work together to complete cabin chores, work out
disagreements, practice table manners, and work together to have an
enjoyable week at the Outdoor School. Such interaction are not only a
first for many students, they are the building blocks for a strong
foundation that teachers and parents can build on once the students
return home.
