Home > Outdoor Education > Aquatic Ecology Watersheds and Stream Study – This class will examine what a watershed is and take a look at the Shady Creek watershed. Students will then look at their watershed at home and see how the two are related, and what they can do to positively impact the environment. There will be a in-depth, hands-on portion of the class where students look for macro invertebrates in Shady Creek and perform experiments to determine the health of the creek. The above understanding will be demonstrated by student work on class sheets, discussion during and after activities, and by group and individual verbal responses to specific questions such as “is the stream environment healthy? Why or why not?”
